Physics exam guide: where marks are won and lost

What each topic includes

Motion, forces and energy

Speed, velocity and acceleration, distance-time and speed-time graphs; mass, weight and density; the effects of forces, resultant force and momentum; turning effects and centre of gravity; work, energy, power and efficiency; pressure in solids and liquids.

Thermal physics

The kinetic particle model, gas pressure and volume, thermal expansion, specific heat capacity, melting and boiling, and heat transfer by conduction, convection and radiation.

Waves

Wave properties and the wave equation; reflection, refraction and total internal reflection; lenses and ray diagrams; dispersion; the electromagnetic spectrum and its uses; sound and ultrasound.

Electricity and magnetism

Charge, current, potential difference and resistance; series and parallel circuits; electrical power and safety; magnets and magnetic fields; electromagnetic induction, motors, generators and transformers.

Nuclear physics

The nuclear atom, isotopes, alpha, beta and gamma radiation, half-life, and the safe use of radioactive sources.

Space physics (IGCSE 0625)

The Earth and the Solar System, stars, galaxies and the expanding Universe. This topic is in IGCSE 0625 only; O Level 5054 does not include it.

Common Physics mistakes we fix

  • Forgetting units, or not converting them (km/h to m/s, g to kg, cm to m) before putting numbers into an equation.
  • Writing only the final answer, which throws away the method marks for the equation and the substitution.
  • Mixing up mass and weight, or speed and velocity, in definitions.
  • Graphs with awkward scales, tiny plotted points, or a best-fit line forced through every point.
  • Practical answers that do not say which variables were kept constant or why readings were repeated.
  • Ray diagrams drawn freehand, without arrows, normals or a ruler.

How we prepare you for each paper

Multiple Choice
Work through the options by elimination, estimate before you calculate, and keep to about a minute per question.
Theory
Write the equation, substitute with units, then give the answer with its unit. Use the exact key words examiners look for, such as "random motion of particles".
Practical / Alternative to Practical
Results tables with units in the headings, readings to a consistent number of decimal places, a large gradient triangle, and precautions that match the experiment.

More Physics questions

Is space physics included?

Space physics is part of IGCSE Physics 0625, so IGCSE students cover it. O Level Physics 5054 does not include it.

Do you prepare students for the Alternative to Practical paper?

Yes. Practical skills such as tables, graphs, readings and planning experiments are taught with past Alternative to Practical questions, which also helps students sitting the Practical Test.

I am weak in calculations. Will this course help?

Yes. Every calculation topic is taught step by step with worked past-paper questions, so you learn the equation, the substitution and the units the way the mark scheme expects.

Who is this crash course for?

  • O Level & IGCSE students sitting Physics in May/June 2027
  • Students who want to finish the syllabus fast and spend the final months on past papers
  • Students who are weak in a few topics and want them fixed before the mocks
  • Private candidates and school students in Pakistan and overseas

How the crash course works

  1. Enroll at the early-bird fee and get access to your student dashboard once your payment is confirmed.
  2. Learn each topic in live sessions, then rewatch the recorded lectures any time.
  3. Practise topical past papers with mark-scheme technique.
  4. Test yourself every month, then sit full mock exams before May/June 2027.
